U. S. Senator Robert C. Byrd

One can't help but wonder when Senator Byrd's past is going to catch up with him. Come to think of it, his present needs catching up to as well. While the Senate's Grand Kleagle rants on about the Honorable Judge Alito (so as not to confuse Senator Kennedy we are talking about Joe Alioto) his West Virginia constitutes are dying in coal mines. The Grand Kleagle's web site states he is about Leadership, Character, Commitment. If he wasn't so wound up with Democratic party politics he might have spent the last few years practicing leadership in coal mine safety. It is a little late to have a mine safety hearing while dead miners are being pulled out of the ground. What has Senator Byrd been doing since 1958 when he was first elected to the Senate? Has he held ANY mine safety hearings? How many miners must die before he gets off his backside and leads the effort for mine safety?

Robert Byrd is an embarrassment to the people of West Virginia, the people of the United States and the Senate of the United States. I can only pray that the voters of that great state rid themselves of this parasite once and for all. Maybe we can get Senator Kennedy to drive him home.
